The excellent e-reader app Freda has again been updated. As well as some usability, performance and stability fixes, this version adds dictionary look-up and translation of words, the option to read in portrait or landscape, and an option to turn on the hyphenation of long words.

Freda Features:

  • Reads ePub (DRM-free), HTML and TXT format books
  • Customisable controls, fonts and colours
  • Bookmarks and annotations
  • Integrates with on-line catalogs – Feedbooks, Smashwords, Gutenberg
  • Connects to your DropBox account for downloading book files
  • Links to your Calibre book library
  • Can download books from any website using an in-application browser
  • Share comments, likes and dislikes using twitter, facebook or email

It’s now available both in a free (ad-supported) version and an ad-free paid version; there is also a version for reading Chinese. You can read the manual, and get a Marketplace download link, at the Freda site here.
