Windows Phone is relatively strong in Vietnam, which may explain why Vietnamese carrier FPT has launched its own branded Windows Phone 8.1 handset, the FPT Win.
Based on the same chassis we have seen many companies use, the handset is 7.9 mm thick and features an 5 inch HD screen, 1 GB RAM and 8 GB expandable storage, with the main weakness being the Snapdragon 200 processor.
It also has an 8MP AF rear-facing camera with LED flash and a 2MP front-facing camera and large 2200mAh battery, which under standard conditions can give you about 10 hours of performance in 3G mode.
“FPT Win not only possesses a beautiful design and a powerful configuration but also marks the close cooperation between FPT Trading and Microsoft, Qualcomm in offering the Vietnamese the best technology products at reasonable prices”, said Le Hoang Hai, Director of Marketing and Partnerships of FPT Trading.
It is expected that FPT Win will be sold at VND 3.39 million ($160) with 13-month warranty nationwide, but in a launch promotion the first 999 customers will get the handset for only 2.79 million VND ($130).
