Microsoft has been having a variety of server issues lately, and the latest casually is pubCenter. The ad-serving service, used by many Windows phone 7 developers because it pays much better than Google Adsense, appears to be not allowing developers to log in to see the performance of their ads.
According to Troy Wood, the Microsoft Portfolio Manager for self-serving PubCenter ads, the issue is only affecting the reporting end, and ads are still generating and recoding revenue as normal.
The service has however been down for an unusually long time, since 11:30 AM PST on the 29th, which makes it a pretty severe outage, and is reminiscent of the issues with AppHub, which also went down for much longer than one would expect recently.
Update: Back up again, at around 10:30 PM PST, but with recent reporting data apparently missing.
Thanks Xin for the tip.
