For Developers: AdDuplex–self-help promotion for Windows phone 7 apps now live, open to all

AdDuplex is an attempt to fight the common Marketplace problem of only a few apps doing well and the rest languishing in obscurity by helping apps promote other apps with in-application ads.

AdDuplex has now gone live with their service, which involves a WP7 Silverlight module (XNA support coming later) which developers can embed in their apps, and which will show ads for applications by other developers.  In return their app will be promoted in some-one else’s app.

20% of the ads shown will however still the usual ads, to pay for the service.

The service is now out of closed beta, and developers can join without an invitation. Developers who sign up and get an app in Marketplace before the end of February will receive and extra 1000 impressions.
