Japan is always an Achilles heel for Microsoft’s Xbox business. Despite their success worldwide, Microsoft is unable to replicate it in Japanese territory. Even the latest Xbox One launch is a huge fail, some reports claim that Microsoft sold fewer than 100,000 units since their launch. Following this poor launch, Xbox Japan head Takashi Sensui is stepping down from his position. He is now moving Microsoft’s HQ in Seattle to start his work at Interactive Entertainment Business. He will be working under under Xbox VP Mike Nichols.
Yoshinami Takahashi, the Consumer and Partner Group General Manager, and Nobuyoshi Yokoi, head of the Consumer and Partner Group Retail Business, will both lead the Xbox Japan division.
