Flipkart is currently one of the leading e-commerce platforms in India, and it’s currently facing tough competition from e-commerce giant Amazon in the country. But now, apart from making it easier for smartphone sellers to connect with consumers, the company wants to make its own smartphone in India. The Walmart-owned Flipkart may soon release a new smartphone under the brand MarQ.

A new smartphone called MarQ has just passed through the BIS(Bureau of Indian Standards) certification site, hinting that the launch could be imminent. For those unaware, Flipkart sells refrigerators, washing machines, LED TV sets, microwave ovens, and a host of large appliances under the MarQ brand in India, and now, if the BIS certification document is not fake, Flipkart is all set to launch its first smartphone under its private label MarQ.

It’s not the first time that we’re hearing about a Flipkart smartphone. Back in 2017, rumors were rife that the Indian e-commerce giant will release a smartphone called Billion Capture+. Of course, the rumored smartphone from Flipkart didn’t see the light of the day. Nevertheless, since the MarQ smartphone has received the BIS certification, Flipkart is unlikely to disappoint Indian customers.

Unfortunately, we don’t know much about the MarQ smartphone at this moment. But as we move closer to the launch date, we’ll know more about it.
