Flipboard turns the page on its Windows Phone app

Another app for Windows Phones has been lost to that big app store in the SkyDrive. Flipboard for Windows phone, which made its debut with the Nokia Lumia 1020 in 2013 has now been retired. It’ll still work on your Windows Phone, but if you uninstall it, that’ll be the end of that. A community manager replied to a customer via email to dispel any future illusions of a new app, stating that Flipboard does not support Windows Phone now, or in the near future. I assume that we’re all familiar enough with Microsoft’s failed mobile platform that recounting failures like the defection of “Nokia” to Android, the very public black-eye given by the loss of the NYPD’s support, and more recent incidents would be beating a dead-horse.

If you’re still invested in Windows Phones for whatever reason, Microsoft’s MSN News app and Nextgen reader can serve as suitable replacements among others.
