The Five Nights at Freddy’s series was supposed to come to Xbox One and PS4 back in 2016 – they were swiftly canceled. These versions are still coming, and creator Scott Cawthon has begun work on an all-new AAA entry in the series.

Announced on the game’s official blog, the upcoming console versions will be spruced-up HD ports of the original games. Xbox, PS4, Switch, Android, and IOS will all see the benefits of these ports. Cawthon states that the ports are approximately 20% “complete”; these versions are being developed by Clickteam.

Cawthon’s AAA entry in the series is “0% complete”, but he is working closely with the studio that he’s involved with. The FNAF series does introduce some interesting ideas, and I’m interested in what a big-budget version could entail.

Numerous other projects are underway as well. A new book series, FNAF VR, FNAF AR, and even the game’s feature-length movie are all in various stages of development.
