Fitbit 2.24 for Windows 10 updated with accuracy and design improvement (changelog)

Fitbit has released a new version of their Windows 10 UWP app, taking it to version 2.24.

Part of a regular cycle of updates to the app, version 2.24 comes with the following changelog:

VERSION 2.24 – Released: July 27, 2017

  • We made some improvements to GPS accuracy and stability.
  • We made some design improvements.
  • We fixed some bugs and made stability improvements.

On Fitbit’s forums they have also suggested the update may address the synching issues which often plague users.

The design changes were not specified, but Windows 10 Mobile users have reported seeing new animations and also changes more in line with Microsoft’s new Fluent Design guidelines.

The most recent update before that, version 2.23, released on June 29, 2017, brought:

  • You can now share your food and weight accomplishments with friends.
  • You can now share your sleep log with friends.
  • Celebrate your progress on your fitness journey. You can now share before and after photos.
  • Share the love! You can now share web pages, including articles and blogs, with the Fitbit community. Let others know what’s inspiring you and share useful health and fitness tips and tricks.
  • We made some design improvements.
  • We fixed some bugs and made stability improvements.

Fitbit has been offering pretty good support for Windows users, most recently adding a Fitbit Cortana skill. For example, you can ask, “Hey Cortana, Ask Fitbit how am I doing today,” to learn about your daily progress. In response, Cortana will read out your progress like active minutes you’ve logged, how you slept last night and more. It will also show you a short summary with all the handy information.

According to their product manager Tristan Rice there are many more exciting improvements coming, which we can only hope means Windows support for Fitibit’s rumoured smart watch, due later this year.

The UWP Fitbit app can be found in the Windows Store for both phones and PCs.
