First Windows Phone 8.1 handset goes on sale in Asia

GigaOM report that the Nokia Lumia 630 has now gone on sale in Asia, making it the first public release of Windows Phone 8.1.

The handset will start at $159 with the dual-SIM version somewhat more.

The smartphone features a 4.5" FWVGA ClearBlack IPS LCD display with Gorilla Glass 3, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC with 1.2GHz quad-core CPU, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of built-in memory, and microSD card slot.

The handset should reach Europe and US in July, and will soon be followed by the high end Nokia Lumia 930.
