Finally, Microsoft Bing Search Business Reached Profitability


During its earning call today, Microsoft specifically mentioned that their search revenue increased to more than $1 billion this quarter. And they passed an important milestone as their Search business reached profitability. Yes, after years of bleeding money, Bing is now a profitable business. Also, Microsoft expects Bing’s strong trajectory to continue, remaining profitable for the remainder of the year. Search advertising revenue, excluding traffic acquisition costs, increased $127 million or 23%, primarily driven by growth in Bing, due to higher revenue per search and search volume.
