Fhotoroom, a popular Windows social networking and photo editing app has just managed to hit 5 million monthly active users this month of April – a milestone for the service.
While this number pales in significance when compared to the massive numbers of Instagram and Snapchat, it is worth noting that Fhotoroom is very unlike those two services because of the audience it serves.
It is a Windows phone first service, which means that much of its user base is composed of Windows phones, with Windows pcs and tablets second, and Android and iOS devices a very distant third.

While those numbers aren’t exactly large – they aren’t small either. They serve to demonstrate that a quality Windows app still has the ability to draw millions of downloads, and keep a high number of those millions engaged for months on end.
Windows phone may not have VSCO Cam or other niche photo community apps, but Fhotoroom more than makes up for it.
