Microsoft has announced that, unlike USA, all UK networks will sport Windows Phone 7 devices at launch this year.
While Orange is set to be the “lead†partner, O2, Vodafone, T-Mobile and Three, and also independent dealers Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4u will be offering handsets running the OS.
Alex Reeve, Director of Mobile Business for Microsoft UK, said: “This means we can provide network choice and also a range of phones across networks for customers to choose from, all with the power of Windows Phone 7.â€
Handsets are expected from HTC, LG and Samsung, and we have seen a few already leaked (see our Windows Phone 7 Device Hub here).
Unfortunately US readers are less lucky, with handsets only available on GSM carriers, like UK, but not the less prevalent worldwide CDMA standard this year, and support only expected around Q2 2011.
