Far Cry 3 is joining backward compatibility today

Xbox One backward compatibility hasn’t see the release of a major game in awhile but today Microsoft announced that Far Cry 3 would be joining the program. Far Cry 3 is an open world first-person shooter set on an island unlike any other. A place where heavily armed warlords traffic in slaves…where outsiders are hunted for ransom. As you embark on a desperate quest to rescue your friends, you realize that the only way to escape this darkness is to embrace it.

Far Cry 3 garnered tremendous critical acclaim when it launched all those years ago. The title currently stands at 91 on Metacritic for the Xbox 360 version. Far Cry 3 was a lot “crazier” than its predecessors and that’s why it surprised consumers. It’s also why Far Cry 4 wasn’t seen as much of an evolution for the franchise because it came across as quite similar. Hopefully the next Far Cry game—which may release in 2017—will be the jump everyone wants.
