Facebook is doing a wider rollout of comments upvote and downvote system

Facebook has been testing the comments upvote and downvote system for a while now and it looks like the company is now preparing for a wide rollout of the feature. The new feature will allow users to upvote and downvote comments on Facebook.

Back in 2015, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed that the company won’t be adding a dislike button to Facebook.

We didn’t want to just build a Dislike button because we don’t want to turn Facebook into a forum where people are voting up or down on people’s posts. That doesn’t seem like the kind of community we want to create.

However, it looks like the company hadn’t dismissed the idea of criticizing comments entirely and worked on a system where users could both upvote and downvote comments. The new feature will allow people to both upvote and downvote the comments just like in Reddit.

However, it is still in testing phase and Facebook is rolling it out slowly to the users. Do our readers think giving the ability to upvote and downvote comments is the right step? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
