evLeaks has posted the unsurprising news that the Nokia Lumia 1020 is reading End of Life, presumably on AT&T, on the 14th September 2014.
What would be interesting however if this is an indication of a replacement being in the works.
According to an earlier leak by evLeaks also, two new Windows Phones are coming to AT&T this year – the Nokia Tesla, which is a mid-range handset, and the Nokia McLaren, which is a flagship device coming to most US carriers.
We have not heard that the McLaren will have a high megapixel camera, but I suspect one of these devices could be the replacement for the outgoing 1020.
If the handset is not replaced with another high megapixel device it would certainly be a loss of a really unique feature, not just for Windows Phone but all smartphones.
