As confirmed by Epic CEO Tim Sweeney, the Epic Games Store is finally implementing a cloud save system.
However, there’s a catch. Cloud saves are currently only available for “a couple of new games” at the moment. More specifically, the feature is only available for two titles on the store – Moonlighter and This War of Mine.
Cloud saves are enabled for a couple of new games right now. We have a bit more work to do before rolling it out more widely.

Sweeney said that, as implementing a cloud save function is a manual process that has to be done per game, it’ll take some time before the feature will be available across the entire Epic Games Store catalog.
Epic were originally aiming to have cloud saves available in May this year, so they’re only out by a couple of months.
Cloud saves allow players to upload their in-game save data to an online storage system, which means game progress can be picked up at any time on another platform.
Some gaming platforms offer cloud saves as a premium service, such as Nintendo Switch Online, while other platforms, such as the Xbox One family of consoles and Steam, offer the service for free.
