February 14th is just around the corner and many of you will have things planned, or be in the process of getting things planned. As expected, we’re here to cover the tech angle of valentine’s day from the Windows perspective. Even if some don’t think tech and love and mix, we’re of the opinion that like all tools, tech can be used to enhance your Valentine’s day as well.
Here are just a few of our ideas on how you can celebrate this weekend using your Windows devices.
6tin for Tinder
Tinder is the one of the most used dating apps in the world – second only to Badoo to the best of our knowledge. If you haven’t already gotten a date for valentine’s day, 6tin is great for making new short or long term connections. It is available on both Windows 10 and Windows Phone 8.1 devices, so there’s no OS limitation. Although if you’re into wooing people with saucy gifs, it wouldn’t hurt to be on Windows 10 Mobile.
Perhaps you want a different kind of companionship on Sunday – the single type. Sure Tinder may warm your heart and other places, but Dominos will warm your stomach and keep you full for longer. Order pizzas from Dominos in the UK, USA, India and more from your Windows device.
Sometimes the heart craves a home cooked meal made straight from the heart, and Yummly is an app that can help you make sure only deliciousness comes forth. Boasting over 1 million recipes, if you want to make it, Yummly’ll show you how to cook it.
Yummly is available for Windows 10, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 devices.
Whether you got a partner or opted for the option of Dominos, Netflix is one service that you’ll be needing. Offering everything from romantic comedies to action movies to shows like Jessica Jones and Orphan Black, you’ll be able to stay entertained with Netflix whether going solo or cozying up on the sofa for some Netflix and chill.
Netflix is available in Windows 10, 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 app stores
An app we cannot recommend often enough for fun nights out or in, Cocktail flow is a beautifully designed app that recommends cocktails to you based on what ingredients you have, If you want to impress with your cocktail making skills after a night out, this app might just be your best bet.
Groove Music or Spotify
Groove Music is Microsoft’s premier music service for Windows devices, offering a massive music streaming library and radio functionality, Groove Music can be used to set the mood in your den of love. If you’d prefer Spotify’s curated playlists on a Windows PC or tablet, then you can download Spotify for Windows PCs here.
We can’t forget the killer app for Windows 10 devices released late last year. 1-800 Flowers is the app you need for ordering flowers for your loved ones. Regardless about how you feel about flowers, they are a long-time tradition of valentine’s day. If you’re looking to order flowers on short notice or just prefer the convenience, 1-800 flowers should cover your horticultural needs.
1-800 Flowers is available from the Windows 10 store.
Of course, there’s nothing better than personal, non cyber contact on valentine’s day, so if you do intend to make use of the above apps and services, be sure to use them as minimally and unobtrusively as possible.
