Bethesda’s virtual trading card game Elder Scrolls: Legends will not be receiving any additional content from this point on.
Despite being a solid collectable card game, the Tamriel-based strategy game never picked up a solid audience. With other card games like Magic and Hearthstone running the genre across platforms, ESL was left behind.
Announced in a Reddit post, The Elder Scrolls: Legends will no longer be getting any additional content. With the project officially “on hold”, fans will have to play with the content they already have.
“We decided to put any new content development or releases on hold for the foreseeable future,” the devs announced on a Reddit thread. “This decision will not in any way affect the release and development of GAEA’s Asia-specific version of Legends, which is operated separately, but will inform our decisions on content and feature development going forward.”
Monthly reward cards and in-game events will still be ongoing for the collectible card game, but new content will not be developed. Old and new events will make their way into the title, but fans shouldn’t wait for any new content packs to arrive.
“Legends isn’t going anywhere,”Legend’s community manager announced during the game’s weekly livestream. “The servers are going to remain up for the foreseeable future. Beyond that, we also still have monthly cards planned for a long time to come, and we will be doing in-game events every week.”
