EA opens registrations for NHL 18 beta on Xbox One

If you were looking to get your hands on EA Sports’ latest hockey title, you’re in luck, as EA Sports has opened up registration for the NHL 18 beta. The beta will run from July 25th until August 1st, and will be available for both Xbox One and PS4. The beta will include 3 game modes: EA Sports Hockey League, NHL Threes, and Online Versus.

Hockey League will allow players to jump into new 3-on-3 game, in addition to the more traditional 6-on-6 matches, with authentic NHL overtime. NHL Threes will also offer a new 3-on-3 experience, however one with no off-sides, no icing, and straight to center-ice penalty shots for every penalty. The mode will have a campaign option with the official release, but beta players will be able to try out NHL Threes versus. And lastly, the new online versus mode will feature new Creative Attack controls, an all-new Defensive Skill Stick, and new creative teammate A.I., which should create smarter match ups on the ice.

Those with an active EA Account can register for this beta here, and pre-order the game to start taking the ice on September 15th.
