After a delay last fall, Dontnod Entertainment has revealed the release date of its upcoming supernatural action-RPG. Vampyr is set to launch on June 5, 2018 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC (via Eurogamer).
Vampyr will be Dontnod’s first title since the release of Life is Strange in 2015, and it couldn’t be more different. Set in 1918, Vampyr follows a doctor-turned-vampire in London during the Spanish Flu epidemic. While your vampiric nature compels you to thirst on blood, you don’t actually need to kill anyone in order to complete the game. Therein lies the moral dilemma at the center of Vampyr; do you give into your base desires, destroying the city in the process, or do you ignore them and relinquish the possibility of becoming more powerful.
Dontnod recently released a new video in its Vampyr webseries which can be seen below. It focuses on the developers discussing what players will experience in the game and how they went about creating it.
You can pre-order Vampyr from the Microsoft Store for $59.99. It appears that the listed release date of the game at the time of writing this on its Microsoft Store page is incorrect. The actual release date is June 5, not April 24.
