According to their sources major ODMs like Quanta, Wistron, which spun of from Acer in 2000, Pegatron, BYD and LongCheer Holdings are all apparently competing for orders, while Compal is already producing handsets for Nokia.

OEMs like China-based Huawei Device, ZTE, Lenovo, GiONEE and K-Touch are planning to launch entry-level and mid-range Windows Phone 8.1 smartphones in the China and other emerging markets, the sources said.

Many of the reference designs were shown off at Computex recently, ranging from low-end to extremely high end handsets.
