I’m Callum Moffat, the lead developer for Petrolhead, an open-source vehicle manager app. Petrolhead is designed to allow users to keep track of the endless cycle of debt associated with a vehicle. It’s sort of like a digital diary for your vehicle expenses. Today, I have the absolute pleasure of announcing the next stage of Petrolhead’s evolution: Petrolhead 2017.0!
After we launched Petrolhead 2016.0, we received a huge amount of feedback from users. Foremost among their complaints was the clunky user interface and the frequent crashes and hangs they experienced. We open-sourced Petrolhead (you can contribute here), and started work on a new release that would fix the problems plaguing earlier versions.
Petrolhead 2017.0 boasts a new user interface, and is based on the solid foundations of Azure Mobile Apps. It has a much more reliable sync function, and is much more stable.
Petrolhead 2017.0 also adds a feature that (as far as I am aware) is unique to Petrolhead. Petrolhead can now use your vehicle data to query Rock Auto for a vehicle part list.
