Deutsche Telekom’s announces it is “very satisfied” with Windows Phone 7 sales, exceeds expectations

dtsatisfiedMicrosoft has released a statement by the Deutsche Telekom, Germany’s largest mobile phone carrier with 39.1 million subscribers, in which the company was delighted to report good sales of Windows phone 7 devices.

The company said:

We are very satisfied with the current sales figures. They exceeded our expectations. With Windows Phone we have extended our range to another excellent operating system that is accepted by the customers and hold their own next iPhone and Android.

While concerns have been expressed in USA of slow sales of Windows Phones, the country has long been a strong hold of the iPhone and even Android, which have seen much lower acceptance on the continent, where the installed base of Windows Mobile has remained significant. It would not be surprising of Windows Phone does better there than in USA, which does make it all the more pity that the OS often has features in USA which are not present in many countries in Europe.
