Deutsche Bank: Nokia will sell 2 million Lumia handsets in Q4 2011

While speculation about the performance of Nokia’s new Lumia handsets are rife, Nokia’s statement of an “excellent” launch in UK appears to have  reassured at least one investor.

Nordic Business reports that today Deutsche Bank forecast that Nokia would be able to reach the bank’s estimate for a total 2 million Lumia smartphones sold in the fourth quarter of 2011.

Nokia’s share price has seen a nearly 10% drop in share price yesterday on Pacific Crest’s speculation of only 1 million shipments and 500,000 actual sales to consumers, and has continued to drift down in the market today, with the share price at present 17% lower than at close last week.

If Nokia wishes to restore confidence in the company they may need to release some actual sales numbers, rather than vague statements such as “best launch in recent history.”
