Dell is planning to add a new feature to Dell Venue Pro Windows Phone 7 and Venue Android smartphones. The new feature will be branded as Dell Stage. The Dell Stage multi-synchronisation feature will allow consumers to automatically push new photo, music and video content to their home network devices over Wi-Fi or 3G, saving the user from searching for the device or media card on which their content is saved. Speaking to PC Advisor on Dell Stage UI, Adam Griffin, product manager for mobility products at Dell said that,
Dell is keen to target ‘generation Y’ consumers and has come up with an auto-synching feature to ensure handset owners always have access to their latest photos and video footage. Dell Stage as “a user interface that sits on top of Android of Windows Phone 7 that allows users to easily access their home media content”.
Dell Stage works across multiple devices rather than being paired with just one. Instead of sorting through several media cards to find the latest set of photos you want to show to the in-laws, you could pull up the photo library on any home network device and find all your photos and video content on it.
During Mobile World Congress last week, Dell presented the Stage automatic over-the-air synchronisation feature on a Dell Venue Pro handset. A cloud version of Dell Stage is also set to launch followed by Windows 7 support later this year. From next month all the Dell devices will feature Dell Stage.
