Dead Target has just recently launched on Windows Phone and I feel compelled to say that it is one of the BEST shooting game I have played on my Windows Phone. It has only launched in a few countries(we have confirmed the availability in Thailand WP Store) and supported for 512mb ram, this FREE game packs in an a lot of fun and in many ways it’s strikingly similar to Dead Trigger on iOS and Google Playstore.

As you’d expect this game to begin, you are put directly into action, controls are explained as the game progresses. In this apocalyptic world, your character is accompanied by a female npc(non-playable character) who explains to you the basics of the game.

You can’t move(which is kind of unrealistic but the game is still extremely fun!).Swipe the screen from the left to move your scope, tap on the right half of the screen to shoot. Tapping on a button on the left side, moves you 90 degrees immediately, you can enable the option to “auto-buy” bullets, both these options being extremely useful. A “rage” button can be activated when you take too much damage, this makes the zombies move in slow motion and the cursor automatically points towards the zombies’ heads so keep shooting away!

She also tells you about new missions and makes, well, sassy comments. he does not accompany you during missions and goes away after the first few mission leaving you in the “….hands of God” as she says.

The gameplay varies from “easy missions” to “boss” missions(which can be extremely difficult). The game offers you a variety of weapons including the standard pistol,MP5 and shotgun among them. As you complete missions, you complete achievements and your rank rises which subsequently opens more missions and more guns which you can buy from the store.

The environments are range from closed and tight rooms to long corridors and even open areas. The environment mood also varies. While the closed hospital like room may make it difficult for you, I find it easier to shoot zombies there.Just keep firing your MP5 and you’ll be fine. But when it comes to open areas, you have to carefully think out your strategy. Which Zombie to shoot? That big white one or the weak looking orange one? It’s certainly a dilemma.

But perhaps, what I like most about the game is the unpredictability of the game. You don’t know what could come next. You do have zombie markers on the screen telling you where the zombies are coming from but you simply don’t know which ones will they be? They could be those weak looking zombies or the big ones in the white vests which take almost 150 bullets to kill.It could even be zombie dogs which would be insanely hungry to devour you. You could blow away zombies’ legs and they’ll still crawl towards you, you could blow away their arms and they would still be hungry to eat you.

All in all it’s a wonderful game and the first FPS I have actually enjoyed on my Windows Phone. The controls surprisingly easy to use, despite this game being a first person shooter with configurable from the in-game menu. I played this game on my 512mb ram Lumia 620 and it ran buttery smooth. It reminds me of Dead Trigger on Android and iOS and the naming of the game also suggests that the developer might have taken inspiration from the insanely popular Dead Trigger series. The game is free with an IAPs allowing you to buy in game cash, guns, bundles, medical kits, grenades, bullets etc.The only time I had to use my grenades and health packs was when defeating this boss which appears after Level 6, I believe and does not hesitate in lifting huge chunks of the road and chucking them at you so be prepared!
