This morning we wrote that Microsoft has fixed the issues with Samsung Windows Phone 7 handsets and the pre-NoDo update.
It seems we spoke way too fast, because while scores of Samsung owners were able to update without problem (as was the case before) a large group of users have been running into code 800705B4 .
It is not clear what is causing the problem, with theories ranging from too little free space on the phone, with 4 GB recommended, to too many apps installed, with the solution being to trim the fat and uninstall unnecessary apps and trying again. Fortunately this problem is not associated with any bricking so far.
Microsoft of course has a troubleshooting page, as we were reminded repeatedly in the forums, but this does not have any useful information for this error.
Have many of our readers run into this error, and have anyone come up with a reliable work-around? Let us know below.
Thanks huzaifah for the tip.
