Crackdown 2: Project Sunburst on WP7and Xbox live

Get Microsoft Silverlight

Project Sunburst is a highly anticipated, one of a kind game  that will finally be coming to WP7 on December 15th.

From the channel 9 blog

Project Sunburst is the latest Crackdown title and brilliantly uses real-time backdrops from Bing Maps, based on your location, to provide an endless array of gameplay environments.

The game uses the Windows Phone 7 geo-tagging functionality to pin-point where you are, and you can build bases to defend against the “freaks” in real locations. I sat down with Justin Robey and John Noonan to talk about the new Windows Phone 7 and Xbox LIVE integration- good stuff!

I think this game will have a lot followers because the use of real-time maps means there will always be an interesting level to discover. You can also earn stuff while playing Sunburst on the phone and use the items on the Crackdown 2 version of the Xbox console. The game will also feature an asynchronous multiplayer mode where you can invite your Xbox live friends to help you defend your base.
