There’s a chance that a Game of the Year edition of the original Borderlands may be heading to both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, according to a new ESRB listing.

The rating quite clearly lists ‘Borderlands Game of the Year’ as being on Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It also states that the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions all contain the ‘Users Interact’ and ‘In-Game Purchases’ features.

The ESRB have yet to take the rating down, so there’s a chance that it’s legitimate instead of someone getting their Borderlands releases mixed up.

The original Borderlands has previously had two Game of the Year editions, but neither have been made available on modern consoles. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, while available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, lacked the first game in the series. It instead consisted of Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.

It also wouldn’t be an unexpected move from Gearbox, who have also been teasing a potential new Borderlands title on their Twitter in the lead up to PAX East. Borderlands is a popular series and the original game is 10 years old this year, making a re-release quite likely. In this author’s honest opinion, it’s just a shame we’ll never get a sequel to Tales From The Borderlands.

In the meantime, why not check out the original Borderlands on Steam? They even have a 4-pack version where you can send 3 copies to your friends. Or keep them all to yourself. We won’t judge.
