Microsoft’s Cortana team today announced some exciting new features coming to the virtual personal assistant in Windows 10. The company is adding more ways to get reminded by Cortana to Windows 10. The Cortana team worked closely with Microsoft Research to bring these new ways to get reminded, according to Microsoft’s Marcus Ash.
In Windows 10, Cortana will soon allow you to get reminded about the commitments you made in emails. For example, if you are talking with your friend about an app you are making, and say something like “I hope to release the app next Monday”, Cortana will be able to detect it and ask you if you want to get reminded about it. Here’s a video showing the new feature in action:
With the upcoming update for Cortana, Microsoft is also making it easier for you to manage your calendar with Cortana. Cortana will now be able to notify you about conflicting calendar events, or meetings that are starting early.
The latest Cortana features are not available to users just yet. Microsoft states that the company beginning to roll out the new features to users in the Windows Insider program first, and then they will release it for all Windows 10 users.
