We heard recently that Microsoft would stop supporting the Cortana bot on Skype, and today we hear about another service which will no longer have access to Cortana integration.
PCWorld reports that Wunderlist users are seeing a message today telling them that Cortana integration will cease on the 15th April.
The message notes:
“Starting 15th April, Cortana will no longer sync your Wunderlist lists and tasks. Previously synced data will remain accessible from both applications but no new list information will be synced. As the services will no longer be connected, you can only view, edit, and delete your information in Wunderlist or Cortana, separately.”
In this case, it is not clear if it is due to Cortana or Wunderlist both being sunsetted, but likely its a bit of both. Wunderlist is being replaced by Microsoft To-Do and in a statement Microsoft said:
“We’re not currently working on new features for Wunderlist as we’re concentrating on our new app, Microsoft To-Do. Once we are confident that we have incorporated the best of Wunderlist into Microsoft To-Do, we will retire Wunderlist.”
Whatever the reason, it is clear that if your workflow depends on either Cortana or Wunderlist it may be wise to start exploring alternatives.
