Back in January, Microsoft introduced Cortana on the desktop. Just like most of the features on Windows 10, the personal assistant isn’t ready for prime-time just yet. However, at Build 2015, Microsoft showed off some upcoming features for Cortana, such as the ability to connect with third-party apps, a compact Cortana, and much more.
Now, the folks over at Neowin were able to get their hands on Windows 10 Build 10120. The build includes some new improvements for Cortana – the most noticeable addition is the new dark theme for Cortana. Alongside the dark theme, the build also introduces the compact version of Cortana. The build also introduces the ability to open apps with voice control. Take a look at the GIF bellow:
As you can see, Cortana was able to open Project Spartan. As expected, Cortana can also open classic Windows applications such as File Explorer. For those wondering, the personal assistant can open apps when you type in the command on current builds (10074), but it doesn’t work with voice commands.
