Cortana for Android updated, now “stabilized”

Cortana is in many cases the glue which holds Microsoft’s cross platform efforts together.

Microsoft has now posted an updated for the Cortana for Android beta app, taking it to version 2.9.3.

The update does not bring any new features, but does improve the stability of what can be quite a buggy app at times.

The full changelog reads:

  • Improved app performance
  • Stabilized the app
  • Fixed several crash bugs

The app now also promotes Microsoft’s Continue on PC feature, which lets users link their phone to their PC and share links from Chrome on their phone to open in Edge on your desktop.

As a reminder to our readers – on some Android phones Cortana can be set as the default voice assistant (see how to here), which is very useful to maintain reminders and alerts across platforms.

If you are part of Cortana’s beta testing program, you can get the latest improvements here — if not, you can sign-up for the beta testing program here.
