Cortana for Android no longer has the “Hey, Cortana” feature

Recently, some Cortana for Android users reported about an issue which caused their phone’s microphone to stop working. As it turns out, Cortana for Android’s “Hey, Cortana” feature is the culprit for this issue and Micorsoft is removing it with the latest update for Cortana in the United States. For those unfamiliar, “Hey, Cortana” allows users to open up Cortana just by saying “Hey, Cortana”. Unfortunately though, as it seems like, this feature may not be available for Android users in the United States anymore.

Microsoft also improved some other stuff for Cortana on Android with the latest update, which are listed below:

  • Improved app stability.
  • Enhanced call and text features.
  • Removed “Hey Cortana” feature for US market

Of course, this feature may return in the near-future. But, for now, if you really want to try “Hey, Cortana”, you need to get a Windows Phone 😉
