Microsoft today introduced a new feature on Cortana: ability to manage to-do lists. The company is currently rolling out a new update to the personal assistant, which will it allow it to create and manage to-do lists for you on Windows 10, Android and iOS. For example, when you are creating a to-do list for your upcoming holiday, you can simply say “Hey Cortana, create a Holiday list”. Once the to-do list is created, you can add things to it simply by saying “Hey Cortana, add book flight to my holiday list”. In addition to adding that task to your to-do list, Cortana will also display all the other tasks that are on the to-do list which is very nice.
Interestingly enough, Microsoft also allows users to create to-do lists via Wunderlist “to do more”. When you create a list or add an item to an existing list, Cortana will show a button for Wunderlist where you can download and install the app. Once installed, you will be able to use Wunderlist to create more organized to-do lists and be able to control that right from Cortana thanks to the Cortana integration on Wunderlist’s Windows 10 app.
Cortana’s to-do list may not sound very useful at the moment — but Microsoft may have plans to do something big with it in the near-future. The company was recently rumored to be working on an Amazon Echo-like device for your kitchen powered by Cortana which will allow you to perform basic tasks using Cortana. As Cortana can now create and manage to-do lists along with creating and managing reminders, an Amazon Echo-like device from Microsoft will, indeed, be very nice.
Once again, Cortana’s to-do list feature is rolling out to Windows 10, Android and iPhone users in the United States — and it’ll likely head to other regions in the near-future.
