It was a great day when Amazon’s Alexa started supporting Outlook.com, as that is where I store my contacts and calendar, but I suspect for more people Google is the repository for their email, contacts and calendar, especially if they use an Android phone.

Today’s good news would then be that Cortana now supports Gmail contacts and calendar, meaning she can now tell you when your next appointment is, even if it’s on Google’s service.

The feature can be found by clicking on Cortana > Notebook >Connected Services and selecting Gmail.
