Corporate VP of Windows Phone evasive about WP7 to WP8 upgrade, hints not

Terry Myerson, corporate vice president of the Windows Phone Division, has spoken to financial analysts at Mobile World Congress 2012, and amongst other statements, he was very evasive when asked whether Microsoft will be providing an upgrade from Windows Phone 7 to Windows Phone 8 this year.

He however also hinted that this will not be forthcoming, claiming “statistically no Android phones get upgraded” and that Apple releases upgrades which slow devices and force people to upgrade their hardware.

The full recording of the meeting can be heard here.
