Copy and Paste support now being reported in some app updates

We still dont know when the first Windows phone 7 OS update will be coming, with Microsoft’s Facebook page for example saying “As we announced at CES in January, an update will be available within the next few months. There seems to be some misinformation about when updates for Windows Phone will be available, so we wanted to clarify that for you. We are still committed to the timeframe we announced. Watch this channel for official word on the release date. Thank you for your support.”

Microsoft has however released an updated emulator with the new OS features, and now apps which added support for cut and paste are entering the Market.

The first to come to our attention is NotePad Free, which added support in their latest update.

In general to get cut and paste support most applications do not need to do anything, but a small minority of apps do need to be modified to use new controls, so it is good to see this process going on already.

Thanks Jarrod and Willaim for the tips.
