Cool Windows Mobile application could save children’s lives

This years Microsoft Imagination Cup challenged teams to create applications that will make the world a better place.

The grand prize winner, Team Mobilife, from the University of Davis, has designed a really cool application for Windows Mobile phones which could help medical staff all round the world.

As can be seen in the video, the software records video from the retina of the eye and uses this information to diagnose micro-vascular changes associated with Diabetes and Hypertension.

More than 22000 student took part in the competition all around the world, and the concepts of many of the finalists can be seen in the Imagination cup YouTube channel here.
