After the huge HTC’s 2009 line up leak, the following piece of news from the Chinese Commercial Times is not a surprise. According to the paper, HTC received at least orders, for eight new mobile phones from service operators such as T-Mobile, Vodafone, AT&T, Sprint Nextel and Verizon Wireless.
According to HTC’s roadmap, the company will unveil part of its new Windows Mobile-based PDA phones during the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) to be held in Barcelona in February, and it plans to launch more Android-powered models in the second half of 2009, said the paper.
Codenames of HTC new phones for 2009 reportedly include Windows Mobile-enabled Saffire, Rhodium, Tungsten, Barium and Topaz and Android-based Hero. In addition, the company also plans to launch a new UMPC, the Thoth, this year, the paper noted.
So, nothing really new here, but it is a kind of confirmation of what we’ve seen in the leaked designs so far. It does seems though that at the Mobile World Congress this February, we should expect only Windows Mobile devices from HTC.
