Media Net Yahoo Bing Network

The Yahoo! Bing Network Contextual Ads program enables web publishers to easily and effectively earn advertising revenue. It allows publishers to use the Media.net self-serve platform to create and customize ad units that display relevant text ads consisting of sponsored links and ad topics from the Yahoo! Bing Network. Today, Media.net announced its acquisition by a Chinese Consortium from serial internet entrepreneur Divyank Turakhia’s Starbuster TMT Investments in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $900M USD. Media.net has said that it will continue to operate under Div Turakhia and its current management team and retain the business model.

It will be interesting to see the reaction from Microsoft and Yahoo regarding the acquisition. I think they would not be happy to know that a Chinese Consortium owned company is powering their ad network. We will update the post with Microsoft’s response soon.
