We have seen different Windows PC form factors in the past, but nothing like this new Pipo X8 device. This is neither a tablet nor a desktop PC. It is a cross between the both. The X8 is called a Windows TV Box + Desktop and it doesn’t have any battery in it, so it has to be plugged into power all the time. It comes with the following specs,
- Quad-core Intel Atom (Bay Trail-T) Z3735F (up to 1.8GHz); or Z3736F (up to 2.16Ghz) processor
- 2GB RAM
- 32GB or 64GB onboard storage
- 4 x USB 2.0
- HDMI-out
- Audio out
- microSD card slot
- Wi-Fi 802.11n
- RJ-45
- Bluetooth 4.0
It is expected to go on sale in May for under $100.
