nocandycrushPocketgamer.fr reports that King, the developer of Candy Crush Saga, has stopped development of their games for Windows Phone.

The games, which has been in development since January this year, have been indefinitely suspended due to lack of growth or even decline in Windows Phone market share, Pocketgamer reports.

The games have not been cancelled outright however, and may still one day arrive on our platform, presumably after Windows Phone proves it is worth supporting.

While the news is bad news for Windows Phone, it suggests to me that King itself may not be that healthy, if they have to ration their resources to the degree that a market more than 50 million users big is not worth supporting.

I suspect, a bit like Zynga, King may be in real trouble well before Windows Phone.
