[Update] Atlanta Targets break Injustice 2’s street date

Update: It looks like multiple stores in the area put Injustice 2 out early. We went to the Lindbergh and North Druid Hills Target stores in Atlanta and both of them had Injustice 2 for sale. However, the North Druid Hills Target had the game inside a plastic security case and the store clerk removed all copies as soon as we asked if we could purchase one. There are also reports of multiple smaller stores in New York selling it to consumers but we were unable to get visual confirmation of this. This isn’t an isolated case that’s for sure.

It looks like another major retailer has bungled it up. Injustice 2 is available to purchase at select Targets right now, a day before release! The discs are out in the open so anyone can purchase them just by going to the self-checkout station. We were able to acquire a copy of Injustice 2 for Xbox One from the Edgewood Target in Atlanta, Georgia. There are still a few copies of the game remaining at that store.

The chances of you getting the game are hit or miss because the copies ring up as an error if you go to the counter, but you can buy it if you go to the self-checkout. You may have to convince the assistant to manually enter the price of the game because the PlayStation 4 version triggered an error.

Our source, Tristan, also managed to get a look at an upcoming deal. You can save $15 on an Xbox Store gift card if you buy Injustice 2. This is definitely a great promotion. Many retailers have a long history of selling games early so it’s not really a surprise.

So, if you’re in the Atlanta area or at any other Target and were able to purchase a copy of Injustice 2, let us know! Injustice 2 continues the storyline established in Injustice: Gods Among Us. Unlike the previous game, which centered on a multiverse conflict, the plot for Injustice 2 takes place entirely within the alternate, dystopian universe. The game features transforming heroes and even more polished fighting mechanics this time around.
