Callcorder Pro lets you record your phone calls on WP8

Perception Systems has brought their popular iPhone app Callcorder Pro to Windows Phone 8.

Because Windows Phone 8 mutes the microphone for 3rd party apps during calls the system uses a PBX-type server to record both sides of the conversation. Due to this the app is currently US-only, though Perception Systems are hoping to eventually expand to other regions.

To record an incoming call a user simply needs to open the app and press the callcorder button. After that this app will dial the recording line and the user can tap the merge call button once it enabled and the call will be recorded.

For recording outgoing calls, users also have to open the app and have to tap the callcorder button. The application will dial the recording line and users can then tap the ‘add call’ button once it enabled.

Now, the user can call the person they want and finally tap “merge call” and the recording will begin.

Despite using an external server the app is a one-time payment only of $9.99.

The app features:image

  • Record incoming and outgoing calls
  • Record unlimited phone calls
  • Email recordings
  • Upload on skydrive
  • No subscription fee
  • Record incoming and outgoing calls
  • Transfer recordings (mp3) to computer

The $9.99 app unfortunately does not have a free trial, and can be found in the Windows Phone Store here.
