Mere hours after Red Dead Redemption 2’s PC requirements asked for a steep 150GB, Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare PC requirements are asking for 175GB.

When the title’s recent beta was live, PC gamers only had to install 45GB, players can expect a near four times jump in install size. From 45GB to 175GB, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is one of the largest video games yet.

With a full campaign, multiple multilayer modes and the return of Spec Ops, its huge size is at least justified. Bigger than Red Dead and even bigger than Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Modern Warfare will be bigger than a lot of built-in SSDs can handle.

Minimum Requirements

  • Windows® 7 64-bit (SP1) or Windows® 10 64-bit
  • Intel® Core™ i3-4340 or AMD FX-6300
  • NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 670 / NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon™ HD 7950 – DirectX 12.0 compatible system
  • 8 GB RAM
  • 175 GB available hard drive space
  • Broadband Internet connection

Recommended Requirements

  • Windows® 10 64-bit latest update
  • Intel® Core™ i5-2500K or AMD Ryzen™ R5 1600X Processor
  • NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 970 / NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon™ R9 390 / AMD Radeon™ RX 580 – DirectX 12.0 compatible system
  • 12 GB RAM
  • 175 GB available hard drive space

Interestingly, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PC requirements have been tweaked since the beta. Whilst that previous build asked for 16GB of RAM, the final release will only require 12GB.
