Call of Duty’s 2019 iteration is indeed a new instalment in the Modern Warfare series, although it may be a reboot of that popular sub-series.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is the name of the new upcoming game, the same title as the revolutionary 2007 COD game.

The title was posted by Twitter user and YouTuber LongSensation, which was quickly confirmed by Kotaku’s Jason Schrier and sources close to Eurogamer.

The MW series has never strayed far from Infinity Ward’s COD entries; just like how World at War and Black Ops are linked, Infinity Ward’s COD games are too. Even 2013’s Call of Duty: Ghosts rested on interviews stating the game was a successor to that sub-series.

Infinity Ward’s 2016 Infinite Warfare even came with a remaster of the original MW game, which was an awesome PS+ game not too long ago. With rumours of the second game in the sub-series being remastered for this game’s release, it’s going to be a Modern Warfare double-team.

If there is anything that is constant in this world, it’s that Call of Duty games get leaked every year. Hell, we already know that next year’s COD instalment won’t be made by Sledgehammer, but instead will be created by Black Ops 4 developer Treyarch.
