One of the apps which Microsoft showed of briefly yesterday was their British Airways check-in app, which demonstrates that XNA and Silverlight can work together on the same app.
More interesting to me however is that the app is in fact real and should be released when Mango gets to the market, with Microsoft senior product manager Derek Snyder saying they worked closely with British Airways to create it.
The app allows check-in simply using your phone, a feature that currently prominent in Apple’s “If you don’t have an iPhone†ad campaign, and is one of the applications of smartphones which really tends to impress buyers.
It certainly impressed IDC Research Analyst Will Stofega who said "The way the 3-D worked with the BA app, that was pretty intense."
