The Brazilian Windows Phone gaming library is pretty small, mainly due to rules in Brazil that prohibit the distribution of games before the Ministry of Justice has rated the game first.
Now new rules have been handed down which exempt digitally downloaded games as long as they have been self-rated by the publisher using a recognized methodology considered valid by the Ministry of Justice.
This will likely include ESRB (U.S.) and PEGI (Europe), although the ministry has not confirmed this yet.
Games distributed on physical media still have to be certified, but this issue is of course not relevant to Marketplace.
The new rules will come into force in 30 days.
